I would say it's his low-post moves. I would like his free throw shooting to improve, but I know for a big man that is like asking a fat person not to poop for a week, so I'm not expecting much at that. However, whenever he gets double teamed in the low-post he freaks and either gets it stolen or turns the ball over. While I love Dwight and think he's a better player than Al Jefferson, Dwight should watch Jefferson's low post moves as well as Hakeem. Dwight with low post moves= magic titles= a diamond encrusted toilet
his free throws of course, if he shot say 80% it would change the way that teams defend him, if he improves his low-post moves and still shot poor free throws, he would be getting by people more often and then get hacked even more IMO

His shooting is obvious, his passing/ability to handle double teams is probably worse, & improvement would lead to dramatic improvement for our team. I'd call em 1a & 1b. But, at least his flashed some shooting ability and there's reason to believe he can improve. His passing/ability to handle doubles is atrocious.

Like mentioned before passing out of double teams and I would say his hands. For being a big guy dwight gets stripped quite a bit(granted he gets fouled alot, but still).
He also struggles at cleanly catching the pass into the post. My belief is that he has to concentrate so much on getting a good handle on the ball, that he can't/doesn't focus on the opposing defenders soon enough, and is easily surprised/trapped.
But, all in all, I guess he is good enough that we should keep him at least one more year......
I think the free throw shooting has such an impact on him that it is the biggest problem right now.
The low percentage hurts his scoring, it hurts the amount of touches he can get late in games, and it hurts him because it allows opposing teams to be more aggressive with him when they defend him. He has to get that to at least 70%.

Couldn't have said it better. It will just open up so much more of his game in my opinion.

If he works at it, he should be able to get it up to at least 70% in a few years. Howard shouldn't have the same that Shaq did because Howard's hands aren't freakishly big like Shaq's were. It was just never going to happen for Shaq simply because of the size of his hands in relation to the size of the ball.
Perhaps Howard could be more like Karl Malone....Malone was horrible early on, but with practice and repetition, his became very respectable and now he's the career leader.
