That the rest of the key free agent signings (as far as the Magic are concerned) go as follows . . .

Hedo - Goes to Portland

Gortat - Goes to Houston

Rasheed - Goes to Boston

Bass - Goes to Orlando

McDyess - Stays in Detroit

Ariza - Goes to Cleveland

AND

Let's also assume the Magic fill their remaining holes with NBA filler.

If it all does indeed play out like this, then . . .

How would you rank then rank the Eastern Conference Contenders?


I'd rank them as follows:

1) Boston (IF HEALTHY) - I'm not exactly sure why but the thought of sheed with them just scares the bejeezus out of me.

2) Cleveland - I think Shaq is more HYPE than hero & Ariza IS NOT the Scottie Pippen that Lebron really needs BUT I do fear those additions would put them SLIGHTLY ahead of us.

3) Orlando - I think the additions of VC, Bass & Anderson will compensate for the losses of Hedo, Gortat & Lee (just not sure by HOW MUCH)



The ONLY X-Factor IMO is Gortat. IF the Magic can retain him then I think we're ahead of Cleveland and VERY CLOSE to Boston.



SOOO . . . what say you, my fellow Magic fans? How would YOU rank these Eastern Conference contenders?

If the Cavs sign Ariza, then I'd say it's a toss-up between us and them for the 2nd seed.

If Boston lands Sheed, then they're the team to beat, IMO.
