Gortat can be mad all he wants, but when he signed that offer sheet with Dallas he knew the Magic could match. What he should've done is talk with the Magic first and figure out their plan, and if they were set on matching then just sign the one year deal and become a UFA next year.
If he was smart, he'd show up and work hard and prove to the rest of the league he's ready to be a starting center, then later in the season the Magic will be looking to trade him. If he comes in with a poor attitude, he could ruin his stock and not get the chance he feels he deserves. Patience is always rewarded.

dear gortat,
STFU and get the sand out of your euro-vagina. You just got a raise of more than 600%. At this point you have two options: 1) you can stomp your feet and cry like a woman that just broke her nail while jerking me off or 2) you can continue to act and play in the manner that has gotten you this nice contract. This is a business and the magic had every right to match that contract. You knew this was a possibility from the moment you agreed to it, now it's time to be a man and roll with the punches.
Sincerely, no_ma'am

with all that has said, I really dont believe it. The interview I saw of Gortat at summer league was the true Gortat talking. No agent, just Gortat. They asked him if hed be shocked/disapointed if the Magic matched. N he said he expects them to and wouldnt be disapointed at all. I would worry about a guy so young in the league, and not itching to prove himself and be able to start. If he was content to play in Dwight's shadow, I wouldn't want him. ************************** "You're just like Rashard Lewis: cold blooded." ~Kberto The Puns Are Starting To Bore ME PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Former A-10 standouts and Associated Press National Players of the Year Jameer Nelson of Saint Joseph's and Xavier's David West have been named to the NBA All-Star team and will square off Feb. 15 in Phoenix, Ariz. It marks Nelson's first All-Star selection, while West earns his second straight honor.

Ok, maybe, just maybe. Well not really, but in fantasy land maybe the plan could be, predicated on the thought that dwight suddenly develops an automatic turnaround 15-18 foot jumper. We Put d12 at the 4, backed by bass, put gortat at 5, backed by ?? ratliff, or maybe a mix of anderson/dwight and bass? Anyways, long story short, we sign andre miller, and our lineup, based on a imaginary fact that dwight can suddenly play PF effectively jameer/andre/aj vc/pietrus/jj rashard/anderson dwight/bass gortat/dwight/bass/anderson/??(ratliff?) There ya go, yep anderson at the 3, why not he can shoot lights out apparently. We have a huge front court with like 5-6 guys 6'8 and taller... Lol thats all supporting dwight at PF, which I dont even really like in all honesty....just a theory! Sig Credit: AddiFB

It wont happen but if we were to move howard or gortat at the 4 we would move gortat n not howard. Their arent alot of dominate centers like howard in the league.
