Same here. Why are people surprised that he's upset with this? Guy wants to play and would been on a good team in Dallas for 40mins a game. I guess some of you don't have any sport/hobby/game that you just enjoy playing and are talented at.

Guys its his AGENT saying this, not him. Get with the program. Besides, the Magic aren't keeping him any more than a full season anyway, at the most. He's a trade asset that we can still get good use out of until that happens. Bravo Otis for not letting a good young center walk for squadoosh. Gortat is an idiot? I think some of you are idiots.
He had a chance to play great role in good team, to be well known player because of it, and maybe being all star, when you look at other centers in Western Conference (no Yao, no Shaq). he thought he will be in Dallas, because all news was telling that Orlando is not going to match.
Now he must play 10 mpg in only a little bit better team. He knows he is a player who could be a starter in many teams in the league, but he can't do this. He came to NBA to play, not only to earn money.
So he can be very disappointed, and a lot of polish fans too.

Wow! I know he wanted to start but to come out and say this...***? Pay me $6 million bucks and I wouldnt dream of saying anything like that. I hope he enjoys playing for the twolves or clippers when Otis sends him packing in 6 months.
Who the F cares. Gortat now knows it is a business. Nice to learn the lesson now when he is young.

It's not like he doesn't have any reasons to be disappointed. There is a significant difference playing 10mpg during garbage time and 30mpg as a starting center. So the fact he'd prefer to play in Dallas is justifiable.
The thing is, he didn't say he's disappointed!! He just said (interview made by polish sport newspaper) these aren't his words. He said only he'd prefer to play more minutes, but he's happy anyway, cause is gonna play in a very good team.
So stop this unnecessary discussion.

A lot of you guys are overreacting, as usual, to this. I can't blame him for wanting to play more than 11 minutes a game. He could probably start for half the teams in the league! Like Echo and a few others said, if he was content playing limited minutes, I would be very concerned. Marcin will be fine. He got a significant raise to soup up his already souped up car. He's playing with guys that he likes in a system that he knows. He still has plenty to prove on a championship contending team. He will show up to play. There's nothing in his character that would indicate that he will sulk on the bench. Its a temporary situation anyway. Otis will be trading him soon and I'm sure it will be a good situation for Gortat. If what I read earlier in another thread was correct, Gortat has a right to approve or reject any trades this year. He will still have a say in where he goes. Quote from Davcicic, "I love the Magic so much that I would take them to the back of the school and get them Pregnant!!!!"

Are you joking? Their biggest problem is at Center. For two straight years they have given MLE money to a center (Diop, Gortat) to REPLACE Dampier. It is the reason they cannot make it far in the playoffs. Come on now, they did get PWND with a T-Bag on top of it all. If it were not for them, we might have had to give Bass the FULL MLE. If it were not for them we would not have got cash ad the trade exception in the Hedo deal. If it were not for them, Gortat would not be a richer man right now. See everyone wins except the team that got PWND then got T-Bagged.

Hey if Cuban wants Gortat so bad, then find a way to give us Dampier and you can have him. Were idiots right. Cuban's the idiot. If he really wanted him he wouldve threw more money at his future allstar (LOL) to where Otis wouldnt have matched it. And were idiots right. You Dallas fans are just mad because Gortat wont be there to help host the Allstar weekend with you and T.O. calling your quarterback a little princess. Stan Van Gundy should tell Dwight,"I'll be more positive in exchange that you stop getting dumb fouls and make some **** free throws".

I didn't say they weren't without deficiency...but if Dampier is your weakest link, while not very great, I'd say your not as a bad off as people might talk you up as being...They are still looking at FA's, heck, Cuban said they're looking at Lamar Odom, I mean they aren't done and they already have a solid squad...
