I personally have no qualms about calling rap music.

However, calling whatever it is Lil Wayne does "music" is on par with calling falling down a flight of stairs and breaking your tail bone "ballet".

I have to agree here. There's a lot of "rap" that is just terrible. BUT, there's a good amount of "rap" that's good. You just need to know where to look and what you're looking for. Personally, when it comes to rap, I prefer lyricist and good beats which draw me to Commmon, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, Emminem, and Kanye.

you think kanye is a good rapper? he USED to be a good rapper his first album, but now he's just like every other overplayed, overhyped celebrity garbage.

Any discussion of good rappers should start with Nas (Illmatic), Wu-Tang clan, Bone Thugs N Harmony, TUPAC of course, NWA etc. etc.

I thought I remember Weezy saying he's a Packers fan. I know he's from New Orleans, but not sure how much of a Saints fan he is.

My criteria of good rappers came down to good lyrics and good beats. Kanye falls into the latter. His beats have always been sick and he even produced the beats for Lupe.

Edit: I agree with you on NAS and Wu-tang though. Tu-pac and Biggy I consider to old to be considered for comparison to newer artists (although they were both nasty).
