At some point in his short four-year career, Ben Gordon's camp came to believe that he was on the same level as Allen Iverson. Now he wants A.I. money and the Bulls are not willing to pay it.
Gordon has no interest in playing for the remaining $6.4 million on his contract next season. He didn't want the proposed six-year, $61 million offer either. Gordon is reportedly looking for a deal worth around $80 million and has resigned himself to leaving the Bulls, telling ESPN.com, "I guess it's safe to say I've played my last game in a Bulls uniform."
But no matter how much Gordon thinks he is worth, he is fighting a losing battle. The reality is that he is a restricted free agent with very little leverage on a team that does not believe he is worth big money (and worth paying luxury taxes on). Even if Gordon decides to play overseas, the Bulls still own his rights and there is no certainty that he would bank more than $6.4 million.
The Memphis Grizzlies are the only team in the league that has big money to spend but there are no indications they are interested in spending it on Gordon. Even the suitors for a sign-and-trade, Gordon's best hope at this point, are limited. It is bound to be a long season for Gordon and the Bulls if he returns to Chicago, but at the end of the day, that is what he is committed himself to when he signed his contract.

Exactly! But he would still be a good addition for us, in a reasonable S&T! I wish him well, and I hope he can wake up and smell the coffee before its to late!!!!

Ben gordon would not be a good fit for us. He's not a point guard. He's a shooting guard. A 6'1 shooting guard at that. He has great ball handling skills and ran the point a bit during the marcus williams suspension but isnt much of a distributor. He can average 20+ppg. He can shoot phenominally from the 3pt line. He has the capacity to hit the big shot.
He would make a good fit on our team if we had a tall defensive minded 1 who could guard the 2. Ben is capable of defending the 1 but would get destroyed by taller 2s.
He is probably worth 7-8 million a year if he gets the touches to produce the points. If we didnt have dwight, who needs someone to pass him the ball, a lineup of Gordon, Pietrus, Hedo, Rashard, and Defensive C (like a Camby or Dalembert) would be a great lineup that could score a lot of points.
Well he is a two-guard skill set in a small point guard frame. Probably wouldn't help the team as much as Pietrus will but he wants about four times the money.

A shoot first player that comes off the bench on his own team, worth $80 Million? I think not. He isnt worth $80 Million and I doubt anyone would want him for that, i doubt anyone will offer him $60 mill other than the bulls. Looks like we have another Stevenson on our case.
Honestly i thought that the Cavs or Sonics couldve used him more than us. They need another consistent scorer. We dont really need him. Only way we couldve used him is for him to come off the bench and i doubt Ben Gordon isnt going for that. He might have better luck playing in Europe.

Bottom line, Gordon would be a horrible fit.
I could have been a bit more specific! I do agree with your position that he is a 2, a small 2 but I think he would be a plus for us in the backup P/G or even starting P/G in the right situations. His Defensive abilitites is what seperates him from Jameer, IMHO.
For this reason I find him most attractive, along with his offensive abilities, although I think he would be more of a shoot first P/G, even more than Meer, in which I do not find attractive in the SVG system.
So to restate my position, we would have a clear advantage with him, Meer and a good veteran in A.J. that would probably be classified as one on the strongest P/G situation in the league. Good points there Lewisforthewin

See, I dont see him any better than Jameer defensively. Maybe ive missed something, but I just dont think we need another undersized player in our backcourt.
Ill pass
