HELL YEAH !!!!! We should definitely keep him. Build the new version of the twin towers in Orlando. When they both are in the game the paint is locked. No layups no dunks no nothing. I love it. If hes asking for 5mill then Otis should give it to him. I think he was asking for a 5 year 25-35mill deal. DO IT.
Stan Van Gundy should tell Dwight,"I'll be more positive in exchange that you stop getting dumb fouls and make some **** free throws".
I don't get why everyone is falling all over themselves to get Bass when we have Gortat. While I understand that Bass is a PF and Gortat is suited to be more of a C, I am sure we can figure a way to get a talented big man more time on the floor even with Dwight. With that said, keep Gortat and get Bass!

I rather keep Gortat and get a cheaper Leon Powe. Bass and Powe game is very much the same. Then maybe get a pg and a G/F that can start so Pietrus can be our 6th man off the bench.

Keep Gortat! We have the big guy of our present, and future who knows our system.
#1 He backs up Dwight and can play PF when needed. #2 He is coveted by about every team out there. #3 A good big man is hard to find. #4 We hold the cards to keep him. #5 why let him go and be short on big men?
If he can just develop that 10-15 foot shot, we're golden. Once he does that, we can open up the paint offensively when need be, and defensively its locked down.

Magic Re-iterate on Matching Gortat: The Orlando Magic have said it before and they are saying it again – they will likely match a deal for Marcin Gortat, unless it's truly exorbitant or Gortat makes it clear he doesn't want to come back.
"The owner said we can go into tax so that changes things. Once you get clearance to (go beyond the luxury tax threshold), (Gortat) has to go get a deal and let us see what we're comfortable doing," General Manager Otis Smith told John Denton of Florida Today (and here on HOOPSWORLD!). "At this point, we're matching everything that comes back to us on him."
Obviously that always depends on the offer and the feedback they get from Gortat. If the restricted free agent center makes it clear he doesn't want to return to Orlando, talk could change to the variety of what could the Magic receive in a sign-and-trade deal.
Gortat is reportedly getting a lot of attention from the Houston Rockets, who can only offer the MLE. Dallas and New York are reportedly interested as well.
