He has some things to work on but yes, I believe he could be a good starter for some teams. My position is that we sign him and trade him for either Brandon Bass and another player. Or we trade him to Houston for Carl Landry and filler. I love his game, and he seems to be a great guy. But to be honest, we didn't use him as much as we need to, to justify the salary. I think we may be better served to get a player that will help us more. Thanks AddiFB

But you could pick up a Ratliff or similar to spell Dwight for 10 min or so a game. You could also go smaller against 2nd team opponants without what you would call a true center. I would love to keep Gortat, but like I said earlier, he just doesn't get the time in there to make a real difference and I don't know if that will change much. And at 5 mil or so a year, can't we do better??? Thanks AddiFB

Gortat is one of the 8 or 10 best center in the NBA as starter for me. If an other team propose a raisonable contract, we must match the offer. (7.5 mil per year). He is very important back up and can take time at 4 too. When Dwight is injured, 3 easy win next year with Marcin, it's a starter center great rebounder and can shoot. With Gortat on the rooster it's a BIG insurance at C for winning a championship. I think it's more important for Magic to keep him and sign a sheed or Bass than keeping Hedo. PS: i'm a Hedo fan.

Finaly if your PF is so great ( Bass evolution ) you can trade easyli a good center at 7.5 mil per year for a expiring and picks.

I'll play devil's advocate when it comes to his signability. With Millsap nearly off the market and potentially returning to the Jazz...there is a lot of talk of OKC going after Gortat. Now they can throw a lot of money at him. More than the MLE, and they would do just that. Making it very hard for us to match. I think he's going to land in OKC now to be perfectly honest. Otis and crew have been saying a lot of things that they've flip-flopped on or were not correct to begin with...so, I wouldnt bank on Gortat returning.
