Should be an option. he scored 7 points a game in 17 off the bench, he shot 35 percent from 3, he's specialty is from the corners. He's long and athletic and can finish plays.
Our new Trevor essentially, players like Carney could excel on our team, this is a player we should be looking at, for sure.
I think we're actually stacked at the wings right now. Think about it... 48 mins to split between 2 wings.. We have Vince, Pietrus, JJ, Lewis and MAYBE J-Rich will come back.
Vince will obviously get 30+ somewhere between SG and SF. Say a 24-6 split. Lewis will get 35+ mins at PF and SF \, a 28-7 split. JJ will get his mins at the 2 (maybe the 1 as well)... 18-20 mins... Pietrus will get most of his time at SF then some at SG; a 25-5 split. That leaves about 10 mins at the SF position while distributing minutes evenly to all our wings. That extra 10 mins can be used to play Vince or J-Rich or Lewis.

Like, Ike Diogu and Rodney Carney.
Sky, I agree. One of my most realistic wishes for this offseason is splitting the MLE between Diogu and Carney, and then sign-and-trading Gortat for Bass or Landry.
That way we'd plug up three roster spots with young, developing talent

I really hope Otis has something like what we're thinking in mind. I like your first lineup by the way, as far as a starting lineup.
Something like Pietrus (6th man), Ryan Anderson, Carney, J.J., Diogu, and A.J. would be a pretty freggin' sweet 2nd unit for a team with such a strong starting lineup as Dwight-Bass-Shard-VC-Meer would be.

Love Diogu. His production in limited minutes would be perfect. Carney's production will increase next year. He really started coming around late, but he has the tools to become a factor going forward.
No one loves Carney, and no one loves Diogu. Their contracts are based on the pure potential they've fooled GM's into believing they still maintain, and because everyone's so infatuated with youth, they'll always find a contract somewhere.
Wake up, veterans win championships. A team full of youth will amount to nothing but "potential" and "promise".

Carney has to be the quickest leaper in the league right now. His speed in the open court is unbelievable! He used to be a sprinter and High/Long jumper in his early college days!
I would pee myself if we got Carney; A guy that I wanted in the 2006 draft!!

Sad thing is I knew you would post these stats. It's a shame people concentrate simply on games in which they had success, while subsequently dismissing the other 27 games in which he played like utter dog crap. This is the kind of mindset that leads to essentially donating a paycheck to these guys, who bless their hearts, are destined to be career NBA journeymen.
If Diogu could put up stats that even remotely resemble these two on a consistent basis, do you think he would be receiving an average of 7.4 minutes per game? Give me a break.
