My opinion on the offseason movement:

The team did not make any major roster change, just trading pieces at SG (Pietrus for Dooling, who is also decent at PG), letting Arroyo go and getting Lee on board thorugh the draft.

I think we were mistaken if we expected Otis to continue making this team better, I think he just said: "Ok, we achieved what we wanted to, I will sit back and expect Dwight, Shard and Turk to carry the load and get us to the 2nd round again".

I think he made 2 critical errors in this summer:

- Not going for a Big Man that could help Dwight in the paint. It´s true, Battie will be getting back to the court and play 25 minutes per night, but he is not real help. And Shard is not a real PF.

- Letting Dooling, an effective and reliable combo guard, and Arroyo, a talented and fan favorite, go away for nothing.

I was hoping that Otis would try to attempt a trade that could get this team over the hump (like Lakers when they got Gasol, Nuggets for Iverson, Celtics for Garnett or Heat for O´Neal), but I think he is too confortable in this position.

I think we have a mediocre GM, who has not have a winning personality. He has made some good moves as a GM (Francis-Ariza, Dwight and Jameer draft, Mid level for Turk) but he is not the one with the brightest mind in the business.

I hope we can go through the regular season with 50-55 wins, and then on to the 2nd round, but I dont think we are near to the Celtics and the Pistons right now.

He did not get them over it, but certainly they tried...Not every trade works so brilliantly like Garnett´s or Gasol´s, but at least the GM proved he had some balls.

And at the time, it surely seem like a great trade for the Nuggets...but they are in the West. In the East they could have been 3rd or 4th

Dooling wasn't lost for nothing, there was a trade exception acquired in that deal.

I disagree with any suggestion that says that trade was ever a good idea for Denver. Pairing Melo with an inefficient scorer who doesn't defend was never a good idea.

And as for the no balls thing, Dallas and Phoenix should've proved that making a trade just to make a trade is never a good idea.

If Denver was in the East should have no bearing on that trade. I would argue that Iverson actually made that team worse and they would have been better served keeping Andre Miller.

You cant make trades just to make trades but if that is your desire then what trade with the current roster should Otis complete to make the team better in your opinion?

I thought they wanted to hang on to him in case they lose Boozer next year.

From the top of my head, I would have packaged Dooling and Bogans for Biedrins, Millsap or Scola. add Battie and a future draft pick to this mix for Brad Miller. And JJ Redick for Hilton Armstrong.

Would GS, Utah, Houston, Sac, or NO have done any of those trades?

Make a strong push for Joe Smith, Nocioni, Noah, Wilcox, Turiaf. We need this kind of high-energy players with size.

We did not have many players like this last season (Evans, Ariza, Dooling) and we have lost them all. We will be softer this year.

I think they want to clear space so that they can resign Boozer.

That could backfire, though. Boozer isn't exactly the most honest guy...

NO and GS, for sure. The others, I dont know, but there is always negotiating, a draft pick here, cash considerations there, etc.

When Otis goes to make those trades, he'll need this:

"You are not that funny.
