"Bottom line, this team isn't winning anything as its built. We aren't suddenly going to turn it on and all will be well. It's midseason. Otis gambled and lost." T REX (24-12 record)

Sources told ESPN.com that the Mavericks are bringing Gortat to town to tour the area and the team's facilities after extending him an offer believed to be worth Dallas' full mid-level exception -- which could translate to a five-year deal starting at roughly $5.6 million -- in hopes of dissuading the Orlando Magic from matching the offer.
Gortat value after 1 year as starter: 10 mil / year. GREAT signing for Dallas. We must match this offer, and if it's necessary we can trade him easily with this contract.

Come on Otis, we need him.
we don't need him for that price if he's just going to play 12 minutes a game like last year.

I wrote here zillions of times, Magic board is anticipating 75 mil amount of payroll next year. 8 players are 68 mil, if you pay 6 mil to Gortat, then you will have 1 mil left to fill the roster, no way Magic can match Dallas offer, bye Gortat, we will watch you as a starter next year...
if hedo gets 10 mil from the magic, it proves there isn't a god. (no_ma'am)
