I really hope he doesn't back out at the last second. I was supposed to go on a date with him last night, I had my nice suit on and he calls me while I'm driving to pick him up that he "can't make it." I felt so horrible.
i heard him on jhonny and jayde on xl 106.7 on monday(?) morning, he said the biggest rumor going around the internet is that he's gay and also an a** hole. so poopsmells might have something going there, never thought i'd be saying that sentence.

I heard him on XL as well... He also claims when a team drafts a player they "Trap" them...This was brought up with the international player jumping situation...

He tryed to cover it as he wasnt talking about him self and refered to the Josh Childress deal going to Europe as a restricted FA

Well to be honest, these are words of an extremely frustrated young man. We all speak of the maturity of a Dwight Howard and other young players, but sometimes we dont give the benefit to others. We all make statements and have said things that we probably would regret.
Its just that when we do it, its not magnified and scrutinized by media outlets and fans like his words are.
I agree that being paid 2 mil a year is hardly trapped and he should be grateful and count his blessings that hes in the position hes in.
I would suggest maybe an advisor or a trainer to maybe teach him the things he needs to say in front of the media.
Im in no way sticking up for the guy, but at the same token, he went from an all world college player to someone that cant crack a lineup in any way, and I would imagine thats a tough transition.
I hope he gets his head in order and I wish him the best, either with us or with another team. But hes gonna have to learn that his words are under a microscope and he has to watch what he says.

Problem is, every time he opens his mouth, he says something destructive. This is the attitude of a spoiled little brat that's never met with adversity, never needed to overcome challenges any more severe than road game hecklers, and he just isn't prepared for what he is faced with.
I would have a lot more respect for the guy if he simply stated that it's been tough, but he's going to continue to work hard to achieve his goals. Instead, we get a pouty little kid that would rather soil himself in the sandbox than build a sand castle, all because he didn't get to play with the shiny Tonka Truck. First trade demands, then coach and GM criticisms, and now revealing statements like the one he made on the radio.
It's been two plus years now and we're still listening to this crap. Grow up JJ. You're no longer BMOC in Durham. The sooner you come to grips with that, the better off everybody will be (even your ravenous, dedicated pack of fans -because they'll finaly have something to root for).
