From Steve Kyler, Hoopsworld report at 10:02 AM http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=13158

quote:

Lakers Won't Pay Ariza: Word is the L.A. Lakers will not go higher than the median exception for Trevor Ariza and that has not sat well with Ariza who will start entertaining other offers. Ariza is said to be the fall back option for the Trail Blazers, but the Cavaliers and Magic have expressed interest in Trevor. The word is if the Lakers do not increase their offer Trevor will go elsewhere for the median money rather than stay in L.A. which flies in the face of Trevor and his agents' recent comments about bleeding "purple and gold".

Not sure how legit this is but the Blazers can have Turk if this means we have a shot at getting Ariza back; Starting line-up of;

Meer
VC
Ariza
Shard
Dwight

NBA Champs baby!

Trevor back in Orlando would make this a successful offseason. Even if we don't get Gortat or Turk. Seriously, that would be the best starting lineup in the NBA.

Athletic, Fast-breaking:
Ariza, VC, Dwight, Peitrus

Shooting:
Rashard, Jameer, VC

Defensive:
Ariza, Pietrus, Dwight

Okay, I snuck in Pietrus as our 6th man.

Don't see it happening although it would surely make up for the defensive loss of lee..

hmmm...

Otis was in love with this guy (and probably still is). And his added spot-up shooting ability makes him a perfect fit.

Im all for this lineup. Now all we have to do is resign Gortat and we have to be favorites for the Eastern Conference finals.

Stan Van Gundy should tell Dwight,"I'll be more positive in exchange that you stop getting dumb fouls and make some **** free throws".

Willing to take same $ elsewhere after getting less than expected???

This would be a dream offseason if this happened...like we never traded him to begin with (minus losing to LA in the finals) & were simply making the natural progression from Hedo to Ariza. Orlando would be nasty on the wings w/Ariza, VC, & Pietrus.

Dwight loses his boys Turk & Lee, but gets back Ariza? I think he'll like that.

Wait...

wasn't Kyler the one who said Dwight would leave Orlando if we got Sheed? LOL.

yeah, scratch this rumor. NOT TRUE.

Surely if Trevor was serious about coming here for the MLE, the Lakers, having his Bird right's, would just up the offer slightly to entice the stay?

Also doesn't this go completely against what Otis said about splitting the MLE?

Yeah - but I'm guessing he'd do it for a young, high quality player like Trev.

Really though, I don't see it. Even if he takes the MLE, I don't see it being with us. It would be nice though. Especially since he can shoot now.

Otis should tell him not only will he start but he will get $5-6mill per season and his old #1 jersey back. Bring him home Otis. If you pull this off i will act like that trade never happen.

Stan Van Gundy should tell Dwight,"I'll be more positive in exchange that you stop getting dumb fouls and make some **** free throws".

$7+ million is too much for this guy...man, the NBA nowadays, it has breaches out of hand...Plus Ariza aint down with Orlando any more...

anywho, Ariza and MP on the same team, surely the fabric of space and time is destined to tear...

I doubt it very much.
Would be nice though, mostly if we lose Hedo.
Lol @ the Magic trading him at first.
